“My greatest advantage is my fight IQ – the ability to solve problems in real-time,” says Emilijus Kaganovicius. On March 22, at the KOK World Series event in Vilnius’ TwinsBet arena, he will face Samuelis Sorochovas in a bout where a wrestling master takes on a striking specialist.
Emilijus is a fighter who doesn’t believe in rigidly structured fight plans. “The essence of a plan is recognizing situations and using my strengths against my opponent’s weaknesses,” he explains.

He has analyzed his opponent thoroughly and highlighted his strongest asset – dangerous, technical, and versatile kicks. “The biggest threat is an unexpected kick,” Emilijus admits, but he adds that he is prepared for anything in the ring. If he had the chance to talk to Samuelis before the fight, he has no doubt he could convince him that he will lose. And how would he do that? “It wouldn’t be hard—deep down, he already knows it.”
His coach, Sergej Grecicho, who has been training Emilijus for 14 years, has full confidence in his fighter. “Emilijus has had three MMA semi-pro fights in the KOK ring and won them all. Those fights gave him confidence and extra motivation to prepare for future challenges.”
Grecicho acknowledges that a tough fight awaits. “This will be one of the most exciting fights of the night. Both fighters have strengths and weaknesses—Emilijus excels in wrestling, while Samuelis is strong in striking. That’s why the chosen tactics and psychological preparation will be crucial.”
Emilijus admits his path hasn’t been easy. “As a teenager, I started going down the wrong road, but the strong support of my loved ones and my coach’s example brought me back to where I belong.” Now, he is preparing for the fight with full dedication, enlisting experienced striking specialists to help him.
On March 22, Emilijus Kaganovicius will step into the ring ready to prove that his fight IQ, adaptability, and hard work will lead him to victory.
